Hallowed By Cynthia Hand

Hallowed is the sequel to the much enjoyable Unearthly

I have to be truly honest and say that i didn't enjoy Hallowed as much as i did Unearthly. It took me  a little while to get in to the story and it wasn't until i was about half way through they story that i got into it

One of  the interesting parts of this story was the emergence of a love triangle Carla Christian and Tucker.

This time the story was not really focused on Carla. The focus this time was on her family, and this time her dad even drops in. I think it is only far that i warn you that this time the story does take a sad turn, when someone Carla loves losses their life. This is only the start of Carla's world being turned upside down

As far as her friends in this story  are concerned though they do appear in the story, however the focus with them is more angel club and and what they will do when they leave school.

Ultimately, I think that this may be a case of  middle-book syndrome.

The Story

For months part-angel Clara Gardner trained to face the raging forest fire from her visions and rescue the alluring and mysterious Christian Prescott from the blaze. But nothing could prepare her for the fateful decisions she would be forced to make that day, or the startling revelation that her purpose—the task she was put on earth to accomplish—is not as straightforward as she thought. Now, torn between her increasingly complicated feelings for Christian and her love for her boyfriend, Tucker, Clara struggles to make sense of what she was supposed to do the day of the fire. And, as she is drawn further into the world of part angels and the growing conflict between White Wings and Black Wings, Clara learns of the terrifying new reality that she must face: Someone close to her will die in a matter of months. With her future uncertain, the only thing Clara knows for sure is that the fire was just the beginning.

I have been lucky enough to be invited to take part in the Gravely inanimated blog tour.
See the book trailer at

Gravely Inanimted Synopsis:

Extra, extra, read all about it: Zombies Invade London!

It has been thirty years since the Voodoo Queen plagued England with the zombie disease that has since swept the world. Humans have had to learn to function around them while the dead kill innocent people. The government continues its efforts to try to contain and find a cure for the problem.

However, by the cover of night, a man who was born half zombie and half human known only as Aeron, roams the streets in search of protecting the upright citizens from the flesh eating creatures. One foggy evening Lucille Knight becomes one of these people, Aeron’s interest is instantly peeked. A woman who gets upset with him for saving her life? What is wrong with her?

But Aeron will have a little competition when Miss. Knight meets Lord Garrett Ashdown, the son of Earl Thomas or a man better known as: The Inventor. A man who builds automatons for the direct purpose of killing zombies; mysteriously understanding their blood and the way they sense humans.

Lucy is taken by the masked man known as Aeron and the equally mysterious Lord Garrett. With one concealing his true identity and the other hiding a ghastly secret, she doesn’t know which one is less dangerous. What secrets do Aeron and Garrett keep from Lucy? Will Miss. Knight be able to be with the man she chooses when she learns the awful truth?

It is still unclear. And the current edition isn’t spilling the beans just yet…

I was inspired to do a live action Book Trailer for Gravely Inanimated due to the fact that I like to try new and unique parts to marketing and plainly: I got sick of just putting up photos. Mostly because I can never find the ones that are right. I wanted to tell a story through the book trailer and I think with the help of Jamie Calderon (hair and makeup), Matthew Martines (director), Valerie Stacy (photographer), and many more I was able to put a piece of real art together.

The most difficult part of this book trailer was orchestrating around 7 people and jumping back and forth between the photography for the model and the filming of the zombies. Talk about needing two of yourself!

But these were the highlight moments:

A terrific action shot of zombie biting widow. LOVE IT!

I love this picture! A very cold zombie. Haha.

The imfamouse director hanging out the car while filming ”Lucy” running for her life.

A great picture of Matthew filming the hero.

Rockstar zombie band!

Everybody is happy and having a good time then...

BOOM! Everyone is gonna eat her. Lol.

I love this photo of Amanda and Ken. Amanda looks a little frightened and disgusted while Ken looks like he is about to bite her.

Finale by Becca Fitzpatrick

Posted by Angel kk at Saturday, December 15, 2012 0 comments

The time has come again to say good bye to another amazing Series.  It's never easy to say goodbye to a series with characters  that have become  part of our life. Finale is the final book in the series

As the war between the Nephilim and the fallen angels gets ready to begin,
Our leading man and lady are stuck in the center.

Nora may be the new leader of the Nephilim army, but it wasn't her choice and now she is going to do anything  and everything in her power to avoid a war.

The Nephilim have other ideas. Now Nora will have to face the fight of her life against those wishing to destroy her . When she falls victim to a new kind of weapon that threatens to steal everything from her. Nora will  find out who her real friends "are" and she'll discover her real enemy is someone she never expected.

Finale has everything you could want in a good book.  Love, loss, betrayal and an epic battle of good versus evil.
Sadly as in any war there will be casualties. Some we will be happy to see the end of and others we will be sad to say good bye to. so get the tissues ready.

Patch is more subdued and his slightly inappropriate innuendos aren't as many as they have been in the past. However, when facing the possibility of being forever separated from the love of your life, it does change the way one looks at the world

This series has been a amazing journey and i have to say that this is in my library as one of my favorites. Given how the book end we can only hope that maybe one day  Becca Fitzpatrick will decide to add to the story..

The story
Nora is more certain than ever that she is in love with Patch. Fallen angel or no, he is the one for her. Her heritage and destiny may mean they are fated to be enemies, but there is no turning her back on him. Now Nora and Patch must gather their strength to face one last, perilous trial. Old enemies return, new enemies are made, and a friend's ultimate betrayal threatens the peace Patch and Nora so desperately want. The battle lines are drawn—but which sides are they on? And in the end, are there some obstacles even love can't conquer?

Her opponents are men-thieves and assassins and warriors from across the empire, each sponsored by a member of the king's council. If she beats her opponents in a series of eliminations, she'll serve the kingdom for three years and then be granted her freedom.
