The dark heroine by Abigail Gibbs is a dark romantic story which is the perfect way to start the year
Violet lee is your average teenager who is still trying to find her way in the world. Trying to deal with a cheating ex, sick sister and a dead brother, but when a night out turns in to a night she will never forget her world will never be the same again .

Pulled into a world she never imagined, violet must fight for life, and her heart.

At times the story reminded me of beauty and the beast. Girl taken by a monster who at the start she hate  but as you dive deeper into the story she finds that maybe all is not what it seems and that first impression can be deceiving. Can this beauty change this beast .

Our beast is Kasper also to be a prince with issues of his own. With family like his who needs enemys
There are moments in this story that will leave you sitting on the edge of your seat and others that will leave you feeling so sorry for the characters. With vampires humans sage and a squid what more could you want.
All in all I have to say I really loved this story and I can't wait to find out what will happen next .
