Review
Akarnae by Lynette Noni is truly a wonderful YA novel. I enjoyed every minute.
When her parents's latest archaelogical project sends them off to the Siberian wilderness, Alexandra Jennings is given no choixe and is sent off to boarding school in Oregon.
Dreading the upcoming months without her parents, Alex is shocked when she walks through the doorway of her new headmaster's office and literally falls into another world. With no hope of returning to Earth, or Freya as the Medorans call it, until the mysterious headmaster returns to the Academy, Alex has to make the most of her new life.
Keeping her otherworldly origins a secret, Alex soon finds herself pretending to be Akarnae Academy's latest transfer student, a transition pulled off with the help of her two new friends Bear and Jordan. The easy-going, comedic pair were quick to befriend Alex at her most vulnerable moment. When she fell into their world. Their immediate bond with each other makes it feel as though they've been the best of friends for ages.
I loved their easy going friendship and how laid-back yet naturally protective they were of each other.
Jordan came from a rich family , with parents who well think of him as a acessories. Though he is as far from a rich spoilt brat as can be. He is your typical easy-going teenager.
Bear on the other hand came from a large, loving family. The moment you enter their house you are made to feel like family.
Akarnae Academy, a school for Medora's most gifted and brightest students, they teach everything combat to equestrian. With a library that is like no other library. It contains secrets that only the chosen one can unlock. And lucky for Alex she just happens to be the chosen one.
This magical story will pull you and have you turning pages to the very end.
Lynette Noni's Akarnae is the perfect introduction to the Medoran Chronicles. with endless possibilities for Alex, her friend and Akarnae.
I can't wait to see what happens next.
