Hallowed is the sequel to the much enjoyable Unearthly
I have to be truly honest and say that i didn't enjoy Hallowed as much as i did Unearthly. It took me a little while to get in to the story and it wasn't until i was about half way through they story that i got into it
One of the interesting parts of this story was the emergence of a love triangle Carla Christian and Tucker.
This time the story was not really focused on Carla. The focus this time was on her family, and this time her dad even drops in. I think it is only far that i warn you that this time the story does take a sad turn, when someone Carla loves losses their life. This is only the start of Carla's world being turned upside down
As far as her friends in this story are concerned though they do appear in the story, however the focus with them is more angel club and and what they will do when they leave school.
Ultimately, I think that this may be a case of middle-book syndrome.
The Story
For months part-angel Clara Gardner trained to face the raging forest fire from her visions and rescue the alluring and mysterious Christian Prescott from the blaze. But nothing could prepare her for the fateful decisions she would be forced to make that day, or the startling revelation that her purpose—the task she was put on earth to accomplish—is not as straightforward as she thought. Now, torn between her increasingly complicated feelings for Christian and her love for her boyfriend, Tucker, Clara struggles to make sense of what she was supposed to do the day of the fire. And, as she is drawn further into the world of part angels and the growing conflict between White Wings and Black Wings, Clara learns of the terrifying new reality that she must face: Someone close to her will die in a matter of months. With her future uncertain, the only thing Clara knows for sure is that the fire was just the beginning.
