Review
Lair of Dreams picks up not long after, The Diviners ended. It’s 1926, and after a supernatural showdown with a serial killer, Evie O'Neill was left with no choice but to reveal  herself as a Diviner. With her talent  revealed, she has now become a media darling, earning the title, “America’s Sweetheart Seer.” But as more Diviners  appear  not everyone is so accepting.

We of course see more of the powers of the characters who were the center of the first book like Evie, Sam, and Memphis. But in this book, Henry takes center stage. We get to learn so much more about his Diviners power, dreamwalking.

We are also introduced  to a new  character Ling a handicapped girl,
who is a dream walker like Henry.
Both use the realm of dreams as a escape  from the real world. Henry is using it to search for the boy he fell in love with in New Orleans. Ling uses it as a place to be free from her handicap.to be the way she was. Together they  discover a world of secrets and mysterious, that may leave them wishing that they never entered the realm of dreams.

Memphis is struggling to deal with both his healing abilities and his forbidden love for a white woman. But there is someone else watching him.

This book is told through multiple perspectives but it works  for this story as it allows  you  to get a  better understanding  of the characters .  There are also  complicated pasts that we are slowly learning about.

If you liked the first book in this series, I think you'll really enjoy Lair of Dreams

Review

It's here!!!!

Firstly let me start by say that i was super lucky with this and received  a ARC copy.

She is Aelin Ashryver Galathynius, and she will no longer hide who she is.

After a decade of denying who she truly is, Aelin is now prepared  to embrace who she truly is, embrace   her birthright . To fight for the future of her people. She must face her past and take down the monsters who destroyed her childhood and murdered the people she loved.

Though on her return she appears to only have one thing on her mind revenge. Revenge for Sam the love taken from her, for Nehemia, the best friend who always believed she could be more. But she also appears  to be seeking vengeance  on a much more personal level. She is seeking vengeance  for Celaena, for the child manipulated  by  kings and turned into a weapon.

Queen of Shadows also see the return on Chaol, Dorian, Rowan, Adieon  and Manon. All of who are fighting  with not only who they truly are but their roles in the kingdom.
We aslo see their storys begin to intertwine as their lifes change.

Struggling  with the loss of everything he’s ever known and believed in. Chaol is now  desperate to save his  dearest friend at any cost, but perhaps it is he who needs the saving. He is determined  to be miserable and alone, as penitence for what he feels was his part in what happened to Dorian, Sorscha, and Nehemia.
Though he knows that Aelin’s raw power could save them all.  But he tries to make them understand that if left unchecked, she and her court’s unstoppable, inhuman power is just dangerous and terrifying, as the king’s world-dominating influence.

Dorian gentle nature, is gone replaced by a darkness from the vlag  that possess  him. Though he tries his hardest to fight Dorian  is sucked away onto a dark corner.Queen of Shadows truly succeeds is in the evolution of its friendships between women. Some fascinating characters coming into  Aelin’s life, and since I’d hate to the ruin the surprises that are in store, I’ll just say that each of the women introduced is as bold, and determined  as Aelin. We are also introduced to some new darker characters.

We first meet Manon and the 13 in Heir of Fire , were i was truly unsure of how or where they were going to fit into this story. But now we learn what their purpose is. The question is will they fulfill their purpose?
We aslo learn more about Manon and her relationship with the other witches in her covern.

There is so many amazing things that happen in the book that will have you on the end of your seat.  Which makes being able to give you a review without spoilers very had, so let me keep it simple.
There will be death, love, revenge, and  surprises.  All of which will leave you dying to know what happens next.

Sarah J Maas has returned us to a world were magic was removed and replaced  with a darkness and death. But can Aelin and her friends  change their world before it is to  late.
